The primary focus of the DRS mobile app is to provide a seamless and efficient recycling experience for consumers, enabling them to easily locate nearby return points and return their bottles with minimal effort. Additionally, return point operators can utilize the app to scan and register bottles, streamlining the deposit return process. The app was designed with a strong emphasis on user convenience, accessibility, and engagement, ensuring that both consumers and businesses can interact with the system effortlessly.
To ensure maximum adaptability, I set up the DRS mobile app with variables that allow for a seamless theme switch between the RLG design and a client's custom design. This flexibility enables easy customization for various clients and markets without compromising on the core functionality of the app. The design approach ensures that the app can scale while maintaining a consistent, user-friendly experience for all users.
The app was built from the ground up, starting with the client's mockups. I collaborated closely with project managers, stakeholders, and developers to understand the requirements and goals, ensuring the mobile app would meet both business needs and user expectations. Together, we worked on refining user flows, interface design, and interactions to ensure a smooth and efficient recycling process for both consumers and return point operators. Every design decision was focused on making the app intuitive, easy to navigate, and capable of driving engagement. The final product not only delivers on functionality but also offers flexibility for future customizations, making it a scalable solution for any market.
